Jamie Raskin Dodges on Should Joe Biden Pardon His Son

‘You‘ve got to look at what the evidence is and I don‘t know enough about it’

EXCERPT:

HUNT: "And was Hunter politically prosecuted?"
RASKIN: Well, I mean, obviously, that's a judicial point. And you have got to look at what the evidence is. And I don't know enough — "
HUNT: "Yes, so should the president pardon him?"
RASKIN: "I mean, again, that is a unilateral executive power, you know, power that — "
HUNT: "And should he use it?"
RASKIN: "Well, the power exists for the president to show mercy for people who have committed crimes and either suffered some kind of injustice in the process or the punishment is disproportionate."
HUNT: "Do you think Hunter has? I mean, should the president pardon his son?"
RASKIN: "I mean, I haven't even remotely looked at it. I mean, I know, basically, what the alleged crimes were. One was when he was filling out a form about whether he was — "
HUNT: "I get the sense you're not going to answer my question. (Laughs)"
RASKIN: "Yeah, I just — I don't know the answer. No, I'm not in the Pardon Office."
